MSIS Provides Support at NASA IV&V Facility in Fairmont, WV as Part of $200 Million Contract23 May 2005 As a subcontractor to Northrup Grumman Corporation, Mountain State Information Systems, Inc. announces the $200 million contract awarded to Northrup Grumman Corp. this month by NASA. MSIS will contribute to the software support services known as independent verification and validation at the NASA IV&V Facility in Fairmont, West Virginia. Verfication ensures that safety requirements for the software are met, while validation determines whether the software, designed for a specific purpose, meets the needs of the mission or agency. The IV&V work supports programs such as the Space Shuttle, the International Space Station, and the James Webb Space Telescope. The cost-plus-award-fee, indefinite-delivery, and indefinite-quantity contract has a five-year ordering period, but some efforts may extend beyond that period. |
